World War Z

Met up with 小花 at Vivocity to watch movie. As our show was at 7.30, we did not have time to have dinner before the show so we went to buy sushi from Giant. Not sure why but the queues at the cashiers were all quite long and we had to wait for some time before it was our turn. It caused us to be late for our movie by about 10 mins.

We were watching "World War Z". Even though we missed the beginning of the show, we could still catch up on the story. It was quite exciting and I was startled by the loud sound effects on a couple of occasions. Overall it was a nice show and it focused more on the process of finding a cure rather than the zombies, which was a bit different from other zombie shows.

Tai Seng

Today I accompanied Ms L to Tai Seng. Her laptop kept shutting down by itself so she wanted to send it to the service center for repairs since it was still under warranty. We had lunch at the nearby coffeeshop after leaving the laptop at the service center. After lunch, we took the MRT back to office. I felt so sleepy that I dozed off on the journey back :p

Hailstones!

Today my parents were driving home from work when they saw that Jurong Town Hall road was closed due to numerous fallen trees on the road. It was only later that they heard that there was a big storm earlier and it even rained hailstones! Heard news that some people's window panes were also shattered from the hailstones.

What is happening to the weather?! Will it ever snow in Singapore one day?

Comparison

Last Friday I took a photo from the window of my office as it was really hazy. Today it was quite clear so I took another photo from about the same angle to do a comparison. What a great difference!!!

Back to normal

On Friday the PSI reading reached 400 so it was rather surprising that the haze situation improved so quickly over the weekend just because of a change in direction of the wind. Today was almost back to normal levels, though it was still rather hot. 

Hopefully the wind will not change direction back too quickly...

Locked in!

I had actually planned to go to City Square Mall today to continue with my sideline. However, due to the haze, the school was closed so I could only go next week. So I just stayed at home and continued playing Neopets. The haze has improved a bit but it was still very hot and I could still smell the burning smell in the air so I decided to on the aircon in my room after breakfast.

When it was almost lunch time, my sis came over to my room to ask what I wanted to eat as she would be going to buy from the coffeeshop downstairs. I asked her to help me buy a packet of chicken rice. Then, my sis wanted to open my room door to go out but found that the door was stuck! We tried turning the door knob but the door would not open at all. We shouted for my youngest sis to try to open from outside but she also could not open it. She said it felt like we had locked the door from inside, so I gave her the key to my room door and asked her to try again. However, she still failed to open the door :(

I even tried to search on the internet on how to open a stucked door and saw a YouTube video teaching how to remove the door knob. I asked my youngest sis to pass me a small screwdriver and proceeded to try. Managed to remove the "cover" of the door knob but couldn't figure out how to remove the whole thing. Just then, my sis' boyfriend came and asked us to stand clear of the door. He threw himself at the door and finally managed to break it open after a few tries. Miraculously, the door was still intact and only the lock was spoilt.

Dad's birthday

Today not watching movie with 小花 as it is my dad's birthday and we are celebrating with him. As JEM only opened recently, we decided to go there and have dinner at Ichiban Boshi. There was a long queue and even though my parents and sisters started queuing first, it was still not our turn yet when I reached. Luckily, we only had to wait a while more for a table.

The menu has much more variety to choose from as compared to Ichiban Sushi. We decided to order a different set each and also a grilled ika to share. My mum loved the grilled ika as it was very tender and delicious. I ordered the grilled mackerel set and the fish meat was really thick and juicy. We were all very full and satisfied after the meal.

After dinner, we walked around the mall before going home. The mall was big so we only managed to cover a small portion of it as it was getting late. Shall visit again next time.

N95 mask

The PSI reading crossed 300 today and is now in the hazardous range. Our company gave each of us one N95 mask. I jokingly commented since we only have one mask each, was it for us to go home and we would not have to come to work tomorrow?

Haha... just my wishful thinking... :P

Lunch at Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh

Today the haze was still bad but we decided to have lunch at Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh in Katong as it was air-conditioned and the PSI reading in the East was slightly lower. We also decided to have this as a belated birthday treat for Ms M.

We ordered a bowl of Bak Kut Teh each and a few other dishes to share. The soup was quite pepperish but the meat was rather tough and difficult to chew. Think the food at the Rangoon branch seems better...

Still hazy

It was still very hazy today :(  Luckily we had our weekly free lunch today so did not have to go outside and breathe the unhealthy air. The weather was also very hot and made me feel irritable. Hope the haze will go away soon...

Haze

Today is Ms M's birthday. We actually planned to have a birthday lunch celebration for her but Ms I was on MC today so we decided to postpone it.

The weather was really bad today. It was very hazy and there was a burning smell in the air. I think the PSI reading was over 100, which is not healthy. I felt very lethargic today, partly because of the weather and partly because of not having enough sleep. Decided to leave office slightly before 6pm to go home and rest. However, the MRT was so crowded and I had to wait for a few trains before I could squeeze in at Buona Vista and Jurong East, which caused me to be in a bad mood :K

Hot...

Today woke up at about 10am feeling very hot, even though the fan was blowing directly at me. Wanted to go back to sleep but it was really hot and it made me feel irritated. Decided to get out of bed and switch on the air-con after breakfast. Spent the whole day in my air-con room playing Neopets :P Wonder how long this hot weather will last...

Neopets

Today I had actually planned to go to City Square Mall to do my sideline but as some documents were not ready, I decided to go next week instead. I spent almost the whole day playing Neopets and my hands were getting a bit tired... Anyway, it's only once a year so shall continue playing as much as I can for this event :P

Now You See Me

Today I met up with 小花 at VivoCity after work. We went to Long John Silver's for dinner before going to the cinema. We went to watch "Now You See Me" and it was very entertaining. It was amazing to see how the illusionists pull off the tricks. The ending was also a surprise but I think it was good. We had a good time and enjoyed watching the show :)

Lunch at Madam Kwan's

Today Ms L and I went to VivoCity to have lunch with a few of our ex-colleagues. We decided to try Madam Kwan's which newly opened. As they have not reached, Ms L and I went to queue for seats first. However, they were still not here when it was our turn but we just told the manager that they were already at the carpark. So we were given a table for 6 and Ms L decided to order first as she was hungry.

After taking our orders, the manager asked whether the rest was coming. Otherwise, he would have to change us to a table for 2 as it was lunch time and there was a long queue outside. So I had to keep calling to chase them to reach faster. Luckily, they reached before the manager changed our table. Overall, the food was quite good but it was rather expensive.

After lunch, we went to the nearby 满记 for desserts. Ms M and Ms I joined us after their shopping and lunch appointment respectively. We spent some time chatting before going back to our offices.

Lunch at Curry Times

Today only Ms M and I went for lunch together as the others had appointments. We decided to try the recently opened Curry Times at ARC as they were having a promotion of $3 off their set lunch if we pay by NETS. Both of us decided to have the curry chicken rice set since it is their signature dish. Overall, the taste was not bad and the portion was quite generous. However, it cost about $7 after the discount so I don't think it would be worth eating without the discount. Glad to have given it a try during the promotion :)

Rice dumpling

It will be the Dragon Boat festival tomorrow. We received an email from our admin that our company will be giving us a rice dumpling each to share with our family. When we went to collect the rice dumpling, we were surprised to see that it was actually about 3 times the size of a normal one (looked more like 荷葉飯). I brought mine home and shared it with my family. It was different from the usual ones as there were scallops, salted eggs and 豆沙 in addition to the meat. A bit weird as there were both sweet and salty taste but overall still not bad. 

Lunch at Marina Square

Today we went to Pizza Hut at Marina Square for lunch. We were meeting our ex-colleagues Ms F and Mr T. Ms J was going to meet us too but she had to cover for a colleague on MC so couldn't meet up at the last minute. We ordered the lunch set meals and chatted while we ate. Nice to catch up with them :)

Multi-tasking

Today spent the whole day at home watching J-dramas and playing Neopets again... I have even mastered the art of playing a Neopets game while watching J-dramas at the same time so as to save time, though I think it's not very good for my eyes :P

Sianzzz.. Have to work again tomorrow...

Time flies...

Today spent the whole afternoon at City Square Mall. However, have not finished the work so will have to go back again next week. Met up with my family at IMM for dinner. We went to Ichiban Sushi and ordered the set meals. Had a very full dinner. After dinner, we went to Giant to buy some groceries and daily necessities before going home.

So fast... My Saturday is gone just like that...

No movie

Not watching movie today as 小花 was going to watch Jay Chou's concert tonight. So I went home and continued watching J-dramas and playing Neopets. Cannot sleep too late tonight as I have to go to City Square Mall tomorrow for my sideline.

Lunch at Kushin Bo

Today we went to Kushin Bo at Great World City for lunch. It was a treat that we "asked" from Mr A who was just promoted recently. Ms M was craving for Japanese food so Mr A initially suggested Kuru Kuru Japanese Restaurant at Valley Point. The lunch buffet seems quite worth it at only $28++ per pax. We tried to make a reservation but the restaurant was already full. In the end, we decided on Kushin Bo instead.

There was quite a variety of food but the quality was only average. The buffet was actually $32.90 per pax but if we finished within an hour, it would only be $22.90 per pax. Since there were 6 of us and we don't really eat much, we finished our food and left in an hour to enjoy the discount.

Lunch at Keisuke Tonkotsu King

Today we had lunch at Keisuke Tonkotsu King at Orchid Hotel at Tanjong Pagar with our ex-boss Mr C. There was only 2-3 groups before us but we ended up having to queue for some time as there were very limited seats. Our food was served quite fast though but it was rather hot in the shop and we left shortly after finishing our ramen. We then went to the nearby Tom N Toms Coffee and we chatted while enjoying the air-con and cold drinks. Had a very full lunch...

Candy Crush Saga

Aargh!!! Thought I would be able to pass level 392 of Candy Crush Saga when I still had more than 20 moves left but in the end was still about 7k short of the required score... Orz  It's already rather challenging to hit a square candy with a striped candy 5 times, yet I still have to get 200k points... Have tried so many times but my average score is mostly only about 140k - 160k points :(

Have to try harder... Wish me luck...

Lunch at Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee

Today Ms I suggested having Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee for lunch so she drove us there. It was a stall at the coffeeshop at Blk 151 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5. There was a Tze Char stall as well and we saw many people ordering from it. So we decided to only order 3 bowls of Thai Wanton Mee, and also 三捞河粉 and Kang Kong with Cuttlefish to share. The Thai Wanton Mee didn't taste very different from our normal one. The dishes were nice and we had a very full lunch.

Same routine

Today more or less the same routine as yesterday... However, I'm now stuck at Candy Crush Saga level 392 :(  Tried many times but I can't seem to get the required score even though I managed to finish the required order. Aarghh....

The weather is very hot today and it made me feel thirsty. Kept wanting to drink water but my thirst doesn't seem to be quenched after drinking... Hope the weather will be cooler soon...

Busy...

Stayed at home today to catch up on my J-dramas. However, currently there is a month-long event on Neopets so also spent time playing. So busy... Kept alternating between watching J-dramas and playing Neopets... occasionally also played Candy Crush Saga when there are lives available.

And there goes my Saturday...

Movie time!

This afternoon we went to Quayside Isle at Sentosa Cove for lunch. Wanted to have a look at this new F&B and retail destination but doesn't seem to have much. We walked around and finally decided on Solepomodoro Trattoria-Pizzeria. We ordered 2 pizzas and 1 pasta to share. The pizzas were good but the pasta was a bit too salty and the penne was a bit hard. Think I still prefer spaghetti or linguini.

After work, I went to meet 小花 at Vivocity for dinner and movies. We had a quick dinner of 五香 at Food Republic then proceeded to the cinema. We were just in time before the movie started. We were watching "Epic" tonight. It was a very entertaining show and many scenes were funny so we enjoyed  watching it.

Weird weather

The weather seemed a bit weird today. All day it looked like it was going to rain but besides huge gusts of wind, it didn't rain at all. Perhaps it was because it seemed rather hazy so the sky looked gloomier than usual.

New levels have finally been released for Candy Crush Saga... Can continue playing now :)

Lunch at Food Republic

Went to Food Republic at Vivocity for lunch today. Was quite surprised to see that there were changes to some stalls. Some stalls have changed locations, while some have closed for renovation works. There were some new stalls and 3 more stalls have also been set up where 幸福饮茶 used to be.

The Indonesian BBQ stall seemed to have the best business as there was a long queue for the food. Actually wanted to try it but decided otherwise due to the queue, and ate 五香 instead. Shall give it a try next time when the queue is shorter.

Still tired...

Slept well last night but still feeling tired today...Think last night's sleep was insufficient to make up for the fitful sleep the day before.

Will probably just watch 1 episode of J-drama and go to bed earlier tonight... Yawn... -_-

Tired...

Didn't really sleep well last night and felt tired today... Had the feeling that I was asleep and yet awake at the same time, like I was aware that I was sleeping?! Weird feeling... Maybe it was the hot weather, or that I was already having Monday Blues while sleeping last night haha...

Hopefully will sleep well tonight...

Restless...

Today continued to stay at home and watch my J-dramas. However, I somehow felt very restless and had an urge to play games instead. Yet I didn't want to start playing any new games as I was afraid I would be addicted and my J-dramas backlog would increase again. This contradicting feelings made me kinda distracted and in the end I went to have a nap instead...

Maybe it's because I feel that time passes so quickly and I can't finish everything that I want to do, and yet I have to go to work again tomorrow :(

J-dramas

Finally can stay at home and watch my J-dramas today. Still have so many episodes to catch up... Every time I thought I have watched up-to-date for the J-dramas that I have started, a new episode would be released. Oh dear, when will I be able to finish my backlog?!

Sale!

This morning, my mum and youngest sis saw on newspaper that there would be a one-day member's only sale at BHG Bugis so they asked me to go with them. Actually I wasn't keen to go at all as I had planned to laze around at home, but since it was a long weekend I grudgingly agreed.

When we reached, we were shocked to see that there was a long queue of people waiting to go in. After a while, 3 Civil Defence officers went in with a stretcher, followed by 2 police officers. We thought someone has fainted or was injured but we didn't see anyone being stretchered out. Or maybe they left by another exit.

After some time, we finally managed to go into BHG. My dad also joined us after his work. We spent some time shopping around but it was crowded everywhere. There was also a long queue at the cashiers. I managed to buy a blouse, a pair of shorts and a backpack. My current backpack is starting to show signs of wear and tear from my "abuse" :P

After that, we went to Kazokutei for dinner. I was pleased to see that they had handmade soba and udon and the soba was my favourite buckwheat soba instead of the usual cha soba. I ordered a set of cold soba and udon together with mixed tempura. We were all satisfied with our food :)

Holiday eve

Today Ms L came back to work. She said that she didn't feel any pain during or after the laser and the doctor told her that she could resume her normal life - no need to avoid eating certain food, can wash face/bathe as usual etc. Just that she had to use eye drops 4 times a day. Good to hear that :)

After work, I met up with 小花 and Ms H for dinner at Carl's Junior where we ate and chatted. After that, 小花 and I went to the cinema to watch the movie "Fast & Furious 6". It was quite fast-paced and exciting, just that some of the female characters looked so alike to me that I kept mixing them up :P

Yay! Tomorrow is Vesak Day so no need to go to work! :D

Nothing special...

Nothing special happened today... Ms L went for laser surgery on her eye yesterday so she was on MC today. However, she should be back tomorrow so seems like it went well and she did not feel any major discomfort. Hopefully everything will be fine :)

Back to work

Back to work again today... Still feeling rather tired from the weekend trip so left office at around 6pm to go home early and rest. 

Have to catch up the J-dramas that were released over the weekend...

Sea Aquarium

This morning we had our breakfast at the hotel restaurant again. The spread was more or less the same as yesterday's. After breakfast, we went back to the hotel room to pack as we will be checking out today. However, as it was still quite early and we only had to check out by noon, we decided to laze around in the hotel room. We were also feeling a bit tired from playing at the Waterpark yesterday and had some muscle aches.

We finally went to check out at 12pm and then proceeded to the Sea Aquarium. We walked around and looked at the different marine life through the glass. There was some information about the species displayed near each "glass tank", which is rather educational and interesting.

We walked till about 3pm then drove to Vivocity for late lunch. We had a quick lunch at Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant before going home. Felt so exhausted when I reached home...

Adventure Cove Waterpark

This morning we had buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The spread was quite good and we had a good meal. After that, we went back to our hotel room to change and get ready to go to the Adventure Cove Waterpark. As it was still quite early and we were quite full, we dilly dallied and only reach the Waterpark at about 11am.

We decided to go to the Adventure River first. We were supposed to sit on the tube and float leisurely around the river but as it was very hot and sunny, we submerged ourselves in the water and held on to the tube instead. The river passed by a grotto, which reminded me of the one we went in Italy. We also passed through an underwater tunnel where we can see different fishes swimming around and above us through the glass. It was quite fun and even my mum who didn't know how to swim enjoyed it.

Later we went to the Bluwater Bay. It is actually a giant wave pool so people could enjoy "surfing". It was also quite fun, just that the waves were rather strong and we had a hard time getting up after being continually pushed to the shore by the waves. 

My sisters then went to play on the slides. As the queue was quite long, my parents and I went to find a shady spot to wait for them. After that, my sisters and I went to try out snorkeling. There was also quite a long queue and we had to wait rather long for our turn. We had to put on life jackets and an instructor taught us to put on the face mask and use the tube to breathe when underwater. However, I couldn't see very clearly without my glasses so I didn't really enjoy it. It was only at the end when I realized that my younger sis did not finish the snorkeling, as she panicked when she didn't really know how to breathe through the tube underwater.

After that we went to look for our parents and decided to call it a day. We walked back to the locker to get our clothes and it was so hot that we were almost dry by the time we reached the locker. We quickly changed and it was only then that we realized that it was past 3 pm and we hadn't had our lunch yet. We went to the nearby Astons to have a quick lunch before going back to our hotel rooms to rest. I wanted to watch the J-drama that I had saved on my handphone but after watching for only a short while, I felt so sleepy that I dozed off. My parents and sisters also had a nap until evening time.

We then went to Singapore Seafood Restaurant for dinner. Actually we wanted to order chili crabs but my parents were having a cough and sore throat so we decided to order dishes that were not so heaty. The food was served quite fast and the taste was quite good. We had a full meal and after that we slowly walked back to our hotel rooms to rest for the day.

Universal Studios Singapore

This morning I woke up at about 8 am and after breakfast and last minute packing, we set off for RWS. We first went to Hard Rock Hotel to see if we could check-in. However, as the rooms were not ready, we proceeded to Universal Studios after checking in. My younger sister has already been to Universal Studios twice, so she would not be joining us but wait for the rooms to be ready and just relax there.

It was quite crowded but luckily the weather was not too sunny. It threatened to rain but was mainly cloudy. The queue for each ride/show averaged between 25 - 50 mins so it was considered short as compared to Tokyo Disneyland. Glad that we chose to come on a Saturday as there is a Hollywoods Dream Parade at 5pm but only during weekends and selected holidays. Additionally, the place closes later at 8pm and there are fireworks display then. Overall, we managed to go on most of the rides and watched the shows that we wanted to.

After watching the fireworks display, we met up with my younger sis at Malaysian Food Street for dinner before proceeding back to our hotel to rest for the day.

It's Friday!

Today also not watching movies as 小花 was just flying back from Korea. Left office a bit later than usual as there were some last minute work to do.

Have to sleep earlier tonight as I will be going with my family for a 3 days 2 nights stay at Hard Rock Hotel at RWS tomorrow. Looking forward to go to Universal Studios, Adventure Cove Waterpark and Sea Aquarium during our stay there.

Lunch at Diandin Leluk Thai Restaurant

Today we met up with Ms D and Ms S for lunch. As they were not driving, we decided to have lunch at Golden Mile Complex as it was near their office. They reached earlier and suggested Diandin Leluk Thai Restaurant. It seemed popular as there was quite a crowd. We ordered quite a number of dishes to share. The food was quite good and we had a good chat over the meal.

Was quite surprised to see that Ms D had cut her hair short. Thought her new hairstyle looked good though, as it made her look fresher :)

Lunch at Soup Restaurant

Today we went to Vivocity for lunch. Ms M actually had craving for Ajisen ramen but some of them didn't want as they felt it would cause hair loss. We couldn't make up our minds so we just walked aimlessly around before deciding on Soup Restaurant. We ordered a few dishes to share and just eat and chit-chatted until it was time to go back to office.

Bored...

Last night I copied some J-dramas into my phone and today tried watching them in office :P  Today we have the weekly lunch buffet again so after eating, I just spent some time watching 1 episode. At least won't waste my time in office and can catch up on the J-dramas :)

Yay! Today saw that 15 new levels have been released for Candy Crush Saga... Time to play again :D

Hair cut

Today was also a very hot day and I was so irritated with my long fringe that I decided to have a hair cut at QB House at ARC after lunch. Didn't know that the price is now $12.... Not sure if the price increase from $10 to $12 was just for this outlet or across the board. Anyway, there was no need to wait as there was no queue. Felt much comfortable after the hair cut :)

Hot hot day...

Today I just stayed at home to catch up on my J-dramas. Still have quite a lot to go... Actually wanted to go and trim my hair but the weather was so hot that I didn't feel like going out at all. Shall go for my hair cut another day :P

Tonight will be Man U's last home match managed by Sir Alex, and the league trophy and medals will also be presented to the players as well, so shall stay up to watch it later :)

Shopping

Today went out with my mum and youngest sister to Clementi Mall. We just walked around and I bought a pair of flat shoes at Bata. The shoes felt quite comfortable when I tried them, so hopefully they won't "bite" my feet when I wear them out.

Later my dad joined us and we went to IMM for dinner. Actually wanted to eat at Ichiban Sushi but there was a long queue (probably due to Mother's Day tomorrow) so we just went to Wan Chai HK Tea Room for dinner instead. We will be celebrating "belated" Mother's Day at RWS next week so my mum said we should just have a simple meal tonight.

After dinner, we went to Giant to buy some groceries before going home.

TGIF!!!

Tonight 小花 will be flying to Korea with her family so we could not watch any movies. I was feeling so sleepy and bored at work that I decided to leave office at around 5.45pm. Managed to reach home by about 7pm :)

Retirement...

Today saw the news that the manager of Man U, Sir Alex Ferguson, will retire at the end of this season. Was quite surprised at his sudden decision as I thought he would continue for a few more seasons. Maybe he has some health concerns as he is already 70+ and has planned to undergo a hip surgery soon. Glad that Man U won the title this season as he can at least retire with another medal.

Hopefully the new manager will be able to perform up to expectations and bring more glory to Man U! :D

Candy Crush Saga

Yay! Today finally cleared level 365 of Candy Crush Saga. However, this is also the last level that has been released so far so now have to wait for new levels to be released. In the meantime, shall just play previous levels to improve my scores...

Weekly lunch buffet

Today we had free lunch buffet in office again. However, we felt that the standard of the food has dropped and many colleagues felt that the taste was not very good. I commented that it seemed like food from the normal 杂菜饭 stall, with dishes such as fried eggs and beansprouts with salted fish.

Anyway, we can't complain much since it's free. Maybe budget for the lunch buffet has been reduced...

Lunch at Santouka Ramen

During lunchtime, Ms L and I went to The Central to meet 小花. As there was not too many people at the clinic, 小花 and Ms L went to see the doctor first. 小花 wanted to do some tests and get more medicine, while Ms L wanted to consult the doctor about her eyes.

After that, we proceeded to Santouka Ramen for lunch. 小花 and I ordered the Shio Ramen while Ms L ordered the Shoyu Ramen. We also shared a plate of pork cheek meat which was very tender. All of us ordered the small portion for our ramen so it was just nice for me and not overly full.

After lunch, we had a quick walk around a Japanese tidbits shop. Then Ms L and I went back to office while 小花 went home.

ONIS

Today continued to watch J-dramas at home. It rained quite heavily in the afternoon and the weather was a bit cooler. However, it became warm again at night. Think have to on the fan when I sleep later...

Yay! I finally managed to clear level 361 of Candy Crush Saga. Was stuck for a few days on this irritating level, having to bring down the ingredients but with thick walls and chocolate factory. Got lucky and cleared the level with only 1 move left :)

J-dramas

Today I just stayed at home to catch up on my J-dramas. So far I have already watched the first episodes of 10 different dramas and there are still about 3 that I have not started yet. Problem is that out of the 10, there are 9 that I would most probably continue watching as they seem nice.

Oh dear... how do I finish so many dramas?!?!

Today 小花 went to see a doctor as she was not feeling well. After that, she came over to meet up with Ms L and I for a short tea break. We chatted for about an hour before going back to work, while 小花 waited for me to finish my work and go for movies later.

After work, I met up with 小花 and we decided to have dinner at Ichiban Sushi at ARC first as it was less crowded. I ordered a Nabeyaki Udon and it was very filling.

After dinner, we proceeded to the cinema at Vivocity. We were watching "The Call" tonight. I didn't watch the trailer before the movie so was not quite sure what the plot was about. However, it was quite an exciting show and there were many scenes which kept us in suspense.

Bees Part 2

This morning I was in the toilet brushing teeth when I heard a buzzing sound. I looked around and saw a bee flying near the window! I quickly finished my brushing then told my sister who was about to go in to the toilet. She didn't see any bees but she closed the window just in case. However, she soon noticed a bee attempting to fly out of the window but was unable to do so. So she also quickly finished her brushing and then closed the toilet door.

We told my parents about the bees and my dad called the town council. Turned out that they have also received a few other complaints about the bees. So they sent some people down and after some searching, they removed a bees hive from a nearby tree. Hopefully the bees will really be gone now...

Bees!!!

This morning my youngest sister went to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She heard a buzzing sound but as she was not wearing her glasses she thought that it was just a housefly. However, later she put on her glasses and realized that it was actually a bee! She quickly closed the bathroom door and hoped that it would just fly out of the window.

After a while, she and my mum went to take a look and found that there were more bees in the bathroom. They closed the door again then went to search on Google to see if there were any ways to get rid of the bees. They found that bees don't like smoke and they could use joss sticks to create the smoke. So they lighted a few joss sticks and placed them in the bathroom. True enough, the bees were all gone when they went to check again after some time.

Not sure where the bees came from but luckily the joss sticks method worked. Otherwise, we really do not know what to do with the bees buzzing in the bathroom...

Boring...

Nothing much to do at work today. Managed to help Ms L clear level 305 in Candy Crush Saga though... Lucky :)

Left office at about 6pm and reached home rather early. Glad that tomorrow is a public holiday so can wake up late :D

Countdown...

Oh yay! It's already Thursday! Can't wait for Friday to come as I will be preparing to go to the airport tomorrow night. This will be the first time that 小花 and I go to Osaka and Kyoto by ourselves, so starting to feel excited as the day draws near. Hope we will enjoy ourselves :)

Nothing special

Nothing special happened today... Time passed quite quickly and I went home just past six. I reached home before 7.15pm and my mum was quite surprised.

Packed a few more items into my luggage bag. Hope I don't forget anything...

Club July

After work, about 10 of us made our way to Club July near Choa Chu Kang. It is a pub cafe recommended by Ms D as it is not crowded and the food and drinks are relatively cheap and good. It was quite a cozy place and we ordered quite a lot of food to share. The serving was a bit slow but the food tasted good. We ate and chatted till about 11pm before going on our separate ways home.

Lunch at Kok Sen

Today we went to Kok Sen for lunch. It is actually a coffeshop selling zi char. Ms D and Ms I said it was recommended by one of our colleagues so we went to have a try. We ordered a big prawn thick bee hoon soup, big prawn hor fun, claypot chicken and vegetables to share. The food was quite nice but a bit salty. The portions were rather generous though so we were all very full.

Packing

Today I did some packing for my Japan trip. My mum forgot to help me buy disposable panties when she went to Giant yesterday so I only packed my clothes. The weather does not seem to be cold at the time we will be there so think will just bring a light jacket. 

Don't think we would be able to see much sakura there... Just hope that the weather will be good and that it will not rain.

At home again...

Spent the day at home again... Didn't want to start any new dramas so just continued playing Avalon Code and Candy Crush Saga.

小花 went to Chinatown today and helped me exchanged money for our upcoming Japan trip. The rate was 1.295 which is good as it has not been so low for quite some time. Hope the exchange rate continues dropping so that our hotel rate would be cheaper when we pay by credit card later :)

TGIF

Today we went to 313 @ Somerset for teppanyaki lunch at Food Republic. We ate and chatted then went for drinks at Toast Box. We were so engrossed in complaining about a new colleague that we only went back to office at about 4pm.

After work, I met up with 小花 for dinner before proceeding to the cinema to watch G.I. Joe: Retaliation. It was an action-packed movie and kept us entertained throughout.

Yay!

Yay! Finally managed to clear level 347 of Candy Crush Saga :) Got really lucky as it was my last move of the game when I cleared it.

Feeling rather tired so shall sleep early tonight...

Dinner @ Irodori Japanese Restaurant

Today I went for a buffet dinner at Irodori Japanese Restaurant with a few colleagues. The sashimi was fresh and came in thick slices. Overall the food was nice and we just ate and chatted non-stop. Ms I also brought a bottle of red wine to share. We stayed till about 10 and were all so full at the end. Good to just "chill out" occasionally...

Candy Crush Saga

Arrgh!!! Still stuck at level 347 of Candy Crush Saga... It's so difficult to make a disco ball and square candy, and yet I still have to hit them together and do this twice. To make things worse, there's a chocolate factory right in the middle of the board and the chocolate kept messing things up. Think I have to be really lucky to pass this level :(

Today at work, I saw a colleague from another team approaching my desk. He looked so serious and I was wondering if there was any problems but he asked me "I heard that you play Candy Crush?" Haha... I couldn't help but laugh at this. Turned out that he just wanted to add me as a Facebook friend so that he can send ticket request to me. So funny...

April Fools' Day

Sigh... Man U lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final replay :( How I wish this was just an April Fool's Day joke. They haven't been scoring many goals lately and didn't seem like scoring at all today. Now they are only left with the Premier League trophy to play for. Hope they can perform well for the rest of the matches...

Easter Sunday

Last night I again slept at only 4 am due to playing Avalon Code... Was close to the end of the game so was really engrossed.

In the afternoon, it suddenly rained very heavily with loud thunder as well. However, it didn't rain for long and it was again very hot after the rain had stopped. Why is it always so hot??

Hot day

Last night was so engrossed in playing Avalon Code that I only went to bed at 4 am :P Woke up near noon time and continued playing Avalon Code throughout the day.

At night, I watched Man U's match against Sunderland. Man U didn't play very well but still won 1-0. It's one step closer to the trophy so keep it up!

The weather is so hot... Shall on the aircon before sleeping to cool the room...

Good Friday

Yay! Today is Good Friday so there is no need to go to work :D I was rather tired so only woke up at around 11 plus. Watched the last episode of "dinner" and latest episode of "Naruto". Also played Candy Crush Saga but was stuck at level 347.

So I decided to play my NDS game "Avalon Code" instead. Haven't played it for a long time and it was fun. Spent almost the whole day playing it :)

It's Thursday!

Today we went to Maxwell for lunch. As tomorrow is a public holiday, 小花 and Ms H decided to meet up with us today instead. We reached Maxwell earlier so we looked for a table first. It was rather crowded and we only managed to get a table after walking round for some time. I had 鱼片面线 as they had run out of 粗米粉. We chatted and ate but it was very hot and we decided to move to another table for desserts.

After work, I met up with 小花 again at VivoCity for dinner. 小花 suggested Texas Chicken and I agreed. I was not very hungry so I only ordered a burger. After dinner, we went to GV to watch "Snitch". It was quite exciting but I thought it was quite ridiculous that a person can be caught with a bag of ecstasy pills with no evidence of wanting to distribute them and be sentenced to a minimum 10 years jail. And his friend just sells him out in order to reduce his own sentence. The laws seem rather unjust...

Lunch @ ION

Today 小花 came to meet me for lunch and we took bus service 175 to ION. We decided to lunch at Food Republic and managed to get a table shortly. The ingredients at the nearby Yong Tau Foo stall looked tempting so we decided to have that for lunch. The food did not disappoint us :)

After lunch, we went to JTB to purchase the rail pass for our Japan trip in Apr. We wanted to buy the Kansai Area Pass and Kansai Thru Pass but the Kansai Thru Pass was out of stock. So we just bought the Kansai Area Pass first. Luckily, the Kansai Thru Pass can still be purchased in Japan if we are unable to buy here.

Candy Crush Saga

Today there was a new update for Candy Crush Saga for Android. However, it was only updated till level 275 whereas the PC version has been updated to level 350. Cannot progress on mobile so can only try to improve scores for the levels that I have passed.

There are still no new episodes of J-dramas yet so shall continue playing Candy Crush Saga then...

Lunch @ Marina Square

Today we went to Marina Square to have lunch with our ex-colleagues Ms F and Mr T. We decided on Swensen's as there was lunch promotion of a free side dish for each main course. We ordered different side dishes to share but there was too much food so there was some leftovers. We chatted while eating and time passed very quickly. We were very full so we decided to walk Ms F and Mr T back to their office at Millenia Tower before walking back to Marina Square to take Ms I's car back to our office. Good to have met up with them as we have not seen them since they left the company.

J-drama songs

Didn't really want to start watching any shows so decided to look for the theme songs of this season's J-dramas. Managed to find most of them :) Think I should also update the songs in my mp3 player, though I have not really listened to it in a while as the ear piece somehow do not fit very well and the MRT is always so noisy...

J-dramas

Today I spent the whole day watching J-dramas. Managed to finish/be up to date on the dramas that I wanted to watch, so now just have to see which ones to continue after only watching the first episode.

Took a look at the upcoming dramas next season. Seems like there would be quite a few detective shows. Some of the other synopsis seemed interesting as well but would have to wait until I have watched the actual show before deciding whether to continue.

TGIF!

Today we went to VivoCity for lunch. We actually wanted to lunch at Ajisen but there were no seats available so we went to Crystal Jade Jiang Nan instead. We ordered a bowl of ramen each and luckily all of us ordered the half bowl as it was very filling. We also ordered rice cake and xiao long bao to share.

After work, I met up with 小花 and we went to Long John Silver's for dinner. We then proceeded to watch The Croods. It was very hilarious and we totally enjoyed the show. Towards the end, there were also some touching scenes and I felt that it was a very nice show overall :)

Lunch @ West Coast Plaza

Today we went to West Coast Plaza for lunch. Actually we wanted to eat at the cheap but good Curry Fish Head stall but there was a notice stating that they had a "kitchen mishap" and had to renovate the kitchen so would only be open from next week. So we went to a new stall nearby that sells Penang food. The food was quite good and reasonably-priced as well, just that some of the food was a bit too salty. We were all very full as we ordered quite a number of dishes to share.

Cute!

Today Ms I returned to work after her trip to Korea. She bought us some snacks as well as a souvenir each. They are so cute! Can you guess what they are??

The answer is "hand cream"!  Mine is the green one \^^/  すごくかわいいでしょう? :D

SAP

Today Ms L, Ms M and I had a SAP training session. Ms L and I have to back up Ms M when she goes on leave so we had to learn how to input orders in SAP. Ms M was there just to have a refresher as certain fields that she used to input in the past might not be relevant anymore.

We spent almost 2 hours but only managed to go through the sales order portion. Will have another session tomorrow for the purchase order portion. Good to learn new things :)

Shirota Yu

Haven't checked Shirota's website for quite some time and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had a revamp. Think it looks much neater and easier to navigate now :)

Kinda missed his singing so went to checked out Youtube and found this video. Still like his voice... Think I should take out his CDs and listen to them again :)

15 points lead

Man U won the match 1-0 this morning... Not a great performance but the result was the most important. Man City lost their match last night so now Man U have a 15 points lead in the title race. Hope Man U will be able to win the title this season.

Lazed around at home again... Sian... Have to go to work tomorrow :(

J-dramas website

Today stayed at home as usual to watch my J-dramas and anime. Thought that the Qire website has changed address but it seemed like the old address was still accessible. However, some new episodes can't seem to be found even though the main page stated that there were updates. Anyway, I found another website that looked very similar to the Qire one... Wonder if they are related??

Shall watch Man U vs Reading match at 1.30am later. Why does it have to be so late again??

Oz: The Great and Powerful

Today, 小花 came to meet us for lunch. Ms M actually wanted to have lunch at Wang cafe at ARC but it was very crowded so we went to Local+ instead. We ate and chatted then proceeded to Burger King for sundae. After that we went back to work while 小花 went to VivoCity to shop.

After work, I went to meet up with 小花. We went to buy sushi at Giant before going to the cinema. We were watching Oz: The Great and Powerful today. It was a very entertaining show with some funny scenes in between. It made me want to re-read all the books that I had read when I was young as I realized that I have almost forgotten the stories.

Dozed off

Today I attended a Legal and Compliance training session. Actually I have already attended previously but Ms L said it was good to refresh again. However, think I dozed off for more than half the time :P  Just can't seem to stay awake at such sessions...

No J-dramas :(

Seems like qire site is down for maintenance today... Unable to access it to check if there are any new J-drama episodes :(  Hopefully it will be restored soon...

It's Tuesday...

Today there was a townhall before our weekly buffet lunch. The townhall was supposed to be from 11.30am - 12.30pm, but due to some speakers taking their own sweet time during their speeches, it ended almost at 1pm. Almost fell asleep during the boring and monotonous speeches...

Tried taking bus 188 home today. However, it took longer than if I had taken MRT, though I could have a seat throughout my journey. Think taking bus 97 would be better as I would have a seat as well, just that have to squeeze in the MRT at Jurong East.

Monday Blues

Sigh... Man U could only draw in the FA Cup match against Chelsea. That means they would have to replay the match but this time at Chelsea's stadium. Why can't Man U just hold on to their two goal lead??

Still stuck at level 290 in Candy Crush Saga... Unable to try at work as the mobile version is still not updated yet :(

ONIS

So fast it's Sunday again... Today also stayed at home and do my usual stuff... Think I'm such a boring person...

Man U will be playing in the FA Cup match against Chelsea later at 12.30am. Can't watch again as have to work tomorrow... Why can't the match be scheduled at an earlier time??

Nothing special

It's Saturday again and I stayed home as usual. Continued with my anime and J-drama and played Neopets and Candy Crush Saga. Nothing special at all....

No movies

Today we went to The Star Vista for lunch at The Manhattan Fish Market. Met up with a few colleagues who were on garden leave, and we ate and chatted for about 2 hours before going back to office.

Not watching movies tonight as the seats were either not very good for the show that we wanted to watch, or the ticket price was higher due to the new Atmos sound system. Shall try again next week...

Tired...

Today I reached home at around 7.45pm. Played Neopets while waiting for my mum and sis to shower before having dinner. However, I was so tired that I just dozed off in my chair. It was only when my mum came up to my room to wake me up that I realized that I had fallen asleep. She said that she had been calling me to have dinner since the start and I still did not go down even after she had finished her dinner so she came up to have a look.

Shall try to sleep earlier tonight...

Man U lost :(

So sad... Man U lost the match against Real Madrid :(  Read that the turning point was when Nani was shown a controversial red card, which left Man U with only 10 players for the last half an hour of the match. Too bad we would never know whether Man U would have won if it was 11 against 11 for the full match...

Since the new colleagues came, there has been drama in the office almost every day. Wonder how long this will last...

頑張って!!!

Man U will be playing Real Madrid in the Champions League match early tomorrow morning. Too bad I have to work tomorrow so unable to watch the match live :(  Really hope that Man U can perform well and win the match... 頑張ってください!

Shall sleep early tonight so that time will pass quickly and I will be able to know the result once I wake up :P

ION Orchard

Today Ms L wanted to buy JR Pass for her upcoming Japan trip so we went to ION Orchard. We had lunch at 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken first. It was my first time eating this and it tasted quite good. The chicken wings and drumlets were very crispy and not too oily. 

After lunch, we proceeded to the nearby JTB for Ms L to buy her JR Pass. There was no queue so it did not take long to buy the pass. I also inquired whether we were allowed to purchase both the JR West pass as well as the Kansai Thru Pass. Glad that we could so that we could plan our itinerary to make full use of both passes.

Man U won!

Yay! Man U won the match against Norwich \^^/  Was pleased for Kagawa for scoring a hat trick, as well as for Rooney for the nice goal. Now will hope that Man U will win against Real Madrid in the upcoming Champions League match :D

Today I continued watching the J-dramas and playing Candy Crush Saga and Neopets. Think my weekends are always just for me to catch up on my sleep and relax. Don't feel like going out at all.

The weather seemed to be getting warmer these few days. Hoping for a heavy rain at night to cool down the temperature...

Lazing around

Today I just stayed at home and lazed around. Had quite a number of J-dramas to catch up so spent the day watching them.

I also played Candy Crush Saga. Now can only play on my desktop as I have reached the maximum level released on the mobile app, so it is taking longer to clear the levels.

Shall watch the Man U vs Norwich match at 11 pm. Hope Man U wins! :D

TGIF

Today we went to meet 小花 and Ms H at VivoCity for lunch. Ms M had a craving for ramen so we went to Ajisen. Most of us ordered the Spicy Cha Shu Ramen which comes with a side dish and drink for the lunch set. We shared the different side dishes and chatted while eating.

After work, I went to meet up with 小花 for dinner before proceeding to the cinema for our movie. We watched Jack the Giant Slayer and it was an entertaining show. There were plenty of action as well as funny scenes and we enjoyed it.

So fast that it's already March now...

Belated CNY dinner

Today we had a company CNY dinner at Imperial Herbal Restaurant at VivoCity, though it was already after CNY :S  Ms I drove us there after work and the dinner started shortly after we reached at around 7pm. The dinner was supposed to start at 6.30pm but think there were still quite a number of empty seats so they waited for a while more. 

There were also lucky draws conducted while we were eating. There was a coincidence where the person making the draw got his own number. Everyone thought he was joking when he read out the number and said that it was his number, but it turned out to be true. For our team, Ms I got $30 Mapletree vouchers while Ms M got a mouse worth $89. Lucky uh...

The dinner ended at around 9.30pm and we took a lift from Mr P to Buona Vista station before going on our separate ways home.

Sian...

Today we took a lift from Ms I and went to Bugis for lunch. Ms I was there to do manicure while the rest of us had a quick lunch at the nearby coffeeshop and then proceeded to the temple for praying. We then went to buy Toto and 4D before going back to office. Just nice Ms I had also finished her manicure so we got a lift back as well :)

Later in the afternoon, I heard Ms D said that our boss commented that we did not lunch with our new sales colleague. Even though she seems ok so far, now we can't even have lunch by ourselves to maybe just gossip/complain about things... so sian...

Stressful lunch

Today we had our weekly free lunch provided by the company and we were "forced" to lunch together as a team. They even opened a bottle of champagne to "celebrate" the start of our new team. So ridiculous... drinking alcohol during office hours :S I only had a sip for show and poured away the balance as I do not like to drink. Our boss commented that Ms M, Ms L and I were very quiet. I don't know what he expects us to say when their conversation topic was about nightclubs and KTVs... Think only Ms D could still put on a show and join in their conversation.

Hope we don't have to always lunch together as a team every Tuesday. Otherwise I will lose my appetite...

Black Monday

Last night I received a sms from Ms I that there would be a meeting at 9.30am today but she did not know who would be asked to attend so she asked us to be in the office before then. I reached at about 9.15am but there was hardly anyone in office yet. In the end, the meeting was changed to 10.30am instead. What a waste of my time to reach early :S

A few of us had planned to wear black today so our cluster was all black... Think will continue with our black theme this week.

Since I reached early today, I left office just past 6pm and managed to reach home before 7.15pm. I was lucky to reach home earlier as it started to rain quite heavily after a while. 

Feeling rather tired so will probably sleep earlier tonight...

ONIS

Today spent the day watching J-dramas and occasionally playing Candy Crush Saga. Just the thought of having to go to work tomorrow filled me with dread... super sian...

Shall see what kind of show those people put up tomorrow...

CNY gathering

Think I drank too much champagne last night and was so tired that I only woke up at about 11 am. Even then, I still felt a bit groggy and lethargic and spent a long time in the shower to wake myself up.

In the evening, I went to my 8th Uncle's house with my family for a CNY gathering. He had arranged for a caterer to set up a few stalls at his house and we could just order what we want to eat from the stalls. However, I think the staff was very inexperienced and one of them manning the Popiah stall did not really know how to wrap a Popiah. He either put too much sweet sauce or too much chilli and in the end, my uncle had to teach him instead. Overall, the food was just passable. We chatted with our relatives while eating and only left at almost 11pm.

Farewell

Yesterday we had a CNY cum farewell lunch at Singapore Seafood Republic. After lunch, we went back to work while the colleagues who have resigned went back to finish up the handover and exit process.

After work, Ms M and I met up with some colleagues who have left earlier. We had dinner at McDonald's before going to K Suites at Orchard Parade Hotel for a farewell gathering for Mr E who will be going back to Taiwan. The minimum spending for our room was $900 so they ordered a few bottles of champagne to drink while singing. I stayed till about 1 am before leaving with 小花 and Ms M.

Took a cab home and as I was very tired, I went to bed as soon as I reached home.

CNY dinner

Today our ex-CEO invited us to dinner at MBS. The dinner was at 8.30pm but really started only at about 9pm. The food was good but the portion was a bit too much. We ate and chatted and finished only at about 11pm. By then we were all so full and tired.

Think I was too bloated from all the food that I had to go toilet to "release" once I reached home. My stomach feels so much better now...

Garden leave

Today we had a meeting where a few colleagues who had tendered their resignations were allowed to go on garden leave from next Monday onwards after finishing their handover. So shiok uh... No need to go to work but can still get paid. Too bad I will never have such leave...

Shall continue to look for jobs... Hopefully can find one soon...

Another boring day...

There was nothing much to do again today... Was so bored that I even went to "analyze" the trends of numbers for the upcoming Toto draw. First time doing analysis for a lottery... haha. Anyway, everyone hopes to win so just use any means possible to improve the chances of winning ;)

Boring day...

Today was another boring day. Nothing much to do so had plenty of time to play Candy Crush Saga. Unfortunately I had already reached the maximum level on the mobile phone and have to wait for new levels to be released. So I just tried to improve my scores on previous levels instead, but it did not feel as satisfying as clearing new levels. Hopefully more levels will be released soon.

ONIS again...

Today I just stayed at home and lazed around. Watched some J-dramas and TV shows, and played some Candy Crush Saga and Neopets. Didn't do anything much and the day passed so quickly just like that...

Sigh... tomorrow have to go back to work again... Just the thought of having to see some of those colleagues again makes me feel so sian...

CNY gathering

Today our boss invited us to his home for CNY gathering. 小花 went to her sister's house in the afternoon so I met up with her at Jurong East MRT at 6pm to go to our boss's house together. Luckily we had seats as the train kept braking suddenly and seemed very unstable. Throughout the journey, we played Candy Crush Saga and were so engrossed that we didn't realize that we had reached our station at Kembangan. So we went to Bedok and took the train back again :P Ms L was already waiting for us at Kembangan and we took a cab to our boss's house.

We were one of the first to reach and chatted while waiting for the others. We then had dinner and played with Mr K's baby. She was only 4 months old and was very chubby and cute :) However, I think too many people kept touching her until she seemed a bit irritated and looked like she wanted to cry whenever someone attempted to stroke her soft skin. We stayed till about 11 pm before going home.

Poor feet...

Today I decided to wear my pair of new shoes but it was a big mistake. Thought it was very soft when I tried on before buying, but my feet started to hurt after just walking to the MRT :( When I reached office, my feet had blisters and I asked 小花 if she had any plaster. Unfortunately she only had 1 so I pasted it on the back of my right foot as it seemed to hurt the most. Spent the whole day walking around in pain...

After work, 小花 and I went to Food Republic. We were not very hungry and there was not much time left before our show, so we decided to to buy 五香 into the cinema to eat :P We tried to finish most of the food, especially those crispy ones, before the show started so that we won't make too much noise while chewing the food.

The movie "Parker" was quite exciting and action-packed. The scene where the killer tried to kill Parker in his room gave me a fright as I was not really expecting it. It was also quite gruesome when the knife cut through Parker's palm and he was covered in blood. But overall we enjoyed the show.

Valentine's Day

Today we had lunch at Shin-Sapporo Ramen. Actually we wanted to dine at Ichiban Sushi but there was already a long queue when we reached so we switched to the neighbouring Shin-Sapporo Ramen instead. I didn't feel like having the set meal so I only ordered a bowl of ramen. The portion was just nice and it tasted good :) 

Felt rather sleepy today... Kept yawning non-stop the whole day. Spent almost the whole day trying to clear a level of Candy Crush Saga but unable to do so :(  Shall continue trying... 頑張ります!

Back to work

The auspicious hour to start work today was 11am so even though I had reached office at around 10am, I waited till 11am to switch on my computer ;) There was not much work to do today so I spent most of my time playing Candy Crush Saga.

In the afternoon, 小花 started planning for our April trip and I joined her. Have done up a list of places to visit and shall continue again tomorrow.

Shall cherish these few days as many people are still on Chinese New Year holidays so there shouldn't be much to do :D

大年初三

Today the weather was quite cool and it rained in the afternoon. Didn't have anything planned for today so I just stayed at home to catch up on my J-dramas. Have managed to be up-to-date for most of the shows that I have started watching and shall see if I have time to watch new ones.

Sad that tomorrow have to go back to work liao... Hopefully there won't be much to do and we can just relax and pass the day quickly.

大年初二

Slept only at about 4 am this morning as I stayed up to watch the match between Man U and Everton. With Man City losing their match the previous night, it was good that Man U won and extended the lead at the top of the table. Hope they will keep it up! :D

Had some New Year goodies for breakfast, then popiah for lunch. My sisters' boyfriends came over in the afternoon and we chatted and watched TV shows while eating snacks. They then watched part 1 of Ah Boys to Men. I had already watched it previously so I went to watch my J-dramas instead.

So fast... tomorrow is the last day of the Chinese New Year holiday before having to go back to work...

新年快乐!

Chinese New Year has finally arrived! We had 汤圆 for breakfast and popiah for lunch. It was raining throughout the day and we only left home at around 4pm :P We went to my 大舅's house and stayed for a while to eat and chat with some of our relatives who were there.

After that, we proceeded to my grandma's house. She had just moved to this new house recently and she had a hard time opening the gate as she was not familiar. After trying a few times, we found out that the key had to be turned twice to lock/unlock the gate. We chatted for a while and also helped to set up the television before leaving.

We decided to go to West Mall for dinner. My father actually wanted to have fast food but we saw that Swensen's was open so we went there instead. Had a very full meal as the portion was quite big. We went home after our dinner and the first day of Chinese New Year passed just like that.

团圆饭

Today is the eve of Chinese New Year. We would be having our reunion dinner at Ban Heng Pavilion Restaurant at HarbourFront Centre. We had to reach the restaurant by 5.30pm, so my parents left earlier to fetch my grandma and uncle to the restaurant, while my sisters and I waited for my youngest sis's boyfriend to drive us there. 

We felt like we were attending a wedding dinner as it was held in a ballroom with many other tables of people. The food was served quite quickly as our time slot was until 7.30pm and there would be another set of diners from 8-10pm. The food tasted quite good and we were very full, partly because the meal was for 10 people but we only had 8.

There was a short lion dance performance in the middle of the dinner. The person operating the lion head was supposed to throw out oranges after he has peeled off the orange skin. However, someone carried a child towards the lion head and he gave the orange to the child, then suddenly many people started crowding around the lion head and tried to get the oranges too. It was quite funny to see the people putting their hands into the lion's mouth and attempting to get the oranges.

After dinner, my parents sent my grandma and uncle home while my sister's boyfriend sent us home. Shall stay up late tonight to 守岁.

A Good Day to Die Hard

Our company did not declare half day today but as we were not really in a mood to work and there was not much to do, we left office at about 5 pm. I went to Harbour Front Centre with 小花 to buy Toto, then went to have dinner at the nearby McDonald's before proceeding to the cinema.

We watched the movie "A Good Day to Die Hard". It was full of action scenes and we were entertained throughout. Just thought that the son was a bit useless even though he is a CIA agent, and needed his father to help/rescue him. Overall still a good show to just watch and relax.

MRT woes 3

This morning I couldn't board the MRT yet again :( I'm so fed up with having to face this problem every day. So I have decided to go to work later and hopefully the trains would not be so crowded during that time.

Feeling a bit tired today so think shall sleep earlier tonight. Wonder if our company will let us leave earlier tomorrow in celebration of Chinese New Year?

MRT woes 2

Having the same problem with the MRT again. However, today I couldn't even board at Buona Vista due to the long interval between trains, and had to resort to taking the train one stop back to Commonwealth :S It was also rather crowded at Jurong East but luckily the train interval today was not so long so I only had to miss a train and could board the next one.

Feel so tired everyday having to squeeze like sardines into the MRT. Why has taking a train become such a stressful chore?? So sian... I don't even think of having a place to sit, but I just want to be able to board the train without having to be packed to the door or having to wait for so many trains before I can board. Why is this simple wish so difficult to fulfill??!!

MRT woes

After work, a few of us got a lift from Ms S to Buona Vista. I then took the MRT to Jurong East to transfer to the North-South line to Bukit Gombak. To my horror, the platform at Jurong East was already crowded with people. However, the train that I intend to take did not come until 2 more trains on the East-West line arrived, which led to even more people waiting on the platform :S I had to wait for at least 3 trains before I could board as the interval was always more than 6 mins between trains :(

In the end, I took more than half an hour just to travel from Jurong East to Bukit Gombak because of this. What a waste of time! Can't understand how this can happen when it is supposed to be peak hours. *angry*

立春

Today is 立春. According to my colleagues, we should dress in red and bank in some money into our account so that our account balance would grow in this year. So this was what I did early in the morning before going to work. Huat ah! :)

This afternoon, I went with some of my colleagues to VivoCity for lunch. Actually we thought of just eating at the food court but then some suggested having a good meal to "celebrate" 立春. So we decided on Akashi. I ordered the Akashi bento set as usual and was very full.

ONIS

I stayed up to watch the match between Fulham and Man U so only went to bed at almost 4am. It was an exciting match and both teams hit the goal posts a few times. Luckily Man U won :)

Think I woke up once at about 10.30am but still felt tired so went back to sleep. In the end, only woke up at almost 1pm :P It was raining so the weather was very cool and nice to sleep. I continued with my packing and cleaning of my room for a while then went to watch some J-dramas and play Candy Crush Saga.

So fast... have to go back to work tomorrow :(

Spring cleaning

Last night, I was playing Candy Crush Saga on my bed. Think I was too tired and fell asleep halfway :P Woke up at about 2am to find that my room light was still on so quickly off the light and went to bed. Think I had a good long sleep and woke up at only 10am this morning.

As next week will be Chinese New Year, I did some packing and cleaning of my room today. Changed the bed sheets and curtains as well. It was very hot today and the curtains that my mum washed this morning were already dry in the afternoon.

After dinner, felt a bit lazy so decided to continue the spring cleaning tomorrow. So I went to catch up on the few Naruto episodes that I have missed, as well as continue playing Candy Crush Saga.

TGIF!

Today 小花 and I did not watch any movies as the timings were not very good. Ms L invited us to her home as we have not gone there after her renovations were completed. Ms H drove us there as she also wanted to have a look. It was very windy and cooling, probably as her unit was on a high floor.

After that, we decided to go to the nearby coffee shop for dinner. Ms L's sister had already prepared dinner for her but she still joined us to have a bite. We ordered XO fish soup bee hoon and 2 other dishes to share. After dinner, Ms L went home while Ms H, 小花 and I walked to The Star Vista and shopped around for a while before going home.

Last day of January

I had some Watami vouchers that were expiring today so 小花, Ms D and I went to the restaurant at The Star Vista for lunch. We ordered a number of dishes to share and were very satisfied with the food. Pleased that we didn't waste the vouchers :)

So fast... today is already the last day of January. 1 month of 2013 has passed just like that...

Long lunch

Today 小花, Ms H and I went to Vivocity to have lunch with Tulip at Sushi Tei. Usually there would be a long queue during lunch but surprisingly the place was not very full today. We ordered quite a number of dishes to share and we were very full.

After lunch, Ms H went to have coffee with an ex-colleague while 小花, Tulip and I went to Giant. Both of them bought air fresheners and some other household items. Tulip then left to go to the bank, and 小花 and I went to buy some bread for tomorrow's breakfast before proceeding to McDonald's to wait for Ms H. We waited for about an hour and spent the time playing Candy Crush Saga. In the end, we only reached office at about 4pm :P

As customers gave us a few hampers for Chinese New Year, my colleagues opened them and conducted a lucky draw to distribute the items. I got a can of abalone and a bottle of grape juice. Lucky uh :D

Relaxing day

Today we had our free weekly lunch provided by the company. After that, we went to a temple in Bugis to pray. We also bought Toto before going back to office. Hope we will win... Huat ah! :D

Today there was also not much work to do so I just continued playing Candy Crush Saga. Some of my colleagues also played too. Really a good way to pass time :)

Tried to send a message through whatsapp and got a prompt that my "trial" version will be expiring in 7 days and prompted me to purchase an extension. Now can only receive but not send messages :( Shall wait and see what happens after 7 days so shall switch to Google Talk for now...

Candy Crush Saga

Today I didn't have much to do at work so I just played Candy Crush Saga to pass time. Finally managed to clear a stage that I was stuck at since last night so was able to proceed to the next level. It can be a frustrating game at times but I quite enjoy playing it. At least there are "missions" to accomplish so that I have a goal to work towards to. Think I would be able to spend quite a lot of time in office playing since our "boss" is not in town. Yippee! :P

Shopping day

Today I woke up around 10am. Had some breakfast then went out with my mum and youngest sis to Jurong Point. My sis told me not to always shop at Bega only so she brought me to another shop Sense to try the clothes. The shop assistant was very helpful and kept taking clothes for me to try. In the end, I bought 11 pieces of blouse/dress/pants. My mum said I was very efficient, can always settle everything at one store.... haha.

My dad joined us after his work. We then went to John Little where my mum and sis wanted to try on lingerie. I was not interested so I went to the shoes section to have a look. Saw a pair of flat shoes by Americaya that was very comfortable and it was made in Japan so decided to buy it even though it was rather expensive :P

We then went to G2000 where my dad chose a few shirts. He had already bought some last week but decided that it wasn't enough so he bought a few more. After that, we passed by Bega so I just went to see if there are any clothes for more casual wear. I was only looking for tops of T-shirt material so didn't find many to my liking, but I still bought 1 top and 1 three-quarter pants.

It was about 6pm after we have finished our shopping. My mum and sis wanted to have a hair cut and insisted that I go along with them so they called the salon at West Mall to check if we could go over at about 7.30pm. We booked an appointment and decided to go to West Mall for dinner. I actually only wanted to have a hair cut but as my mum was coloring her hair, my sis and I did an additional scalp treatment. We were only done at almost 9pm.

We were about to go home when my dad asked us to go to Harvey Norman next door to see if there were any good TV set to replace our current one. A white patch has formed on the display panel of our current TV and the patch seemed to be enlarging. In the end, we decided on a Samsung LED one which was on sale and seemed good value for money.

Next week will have to stay at home and do spring cleaning...

Lethargic

I only woke up at about noon time today as I felt very tired. Actually wanted to go out and shop for some new clothes but was so lethargic that I decided to go out only tomorrow. So I just spent my time watching some J-dramas and playing Candy Crush Saga. Omg... I've got a long list of outstanding J-dramas to watch. Think I have to be more selective, otherwise I won't have time to finish all of them.

Shall sleep early tonight so that can wake up earlier tomorrow to shop :)

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Today 小花 was on MC but we had already booked movie tickets for tonight and she said she just had to be careful so I went to meet her at O' Coffee Club for dinner first. We ordered the Garlic Prawn Pasta and the Skipper's Delight to share.

After dinner, there was still time so I accompanied 小花 to Daiso to buy some things. We then proceeded to the movie theatre. Our show was supposed to start at 9.30pm but we could not enter the cinema hall until almost 9.45pm as an earlier show had only just ended. Not sure what happened to the scheduling :S We were starting to get worried whether we would miss the last train when our show finally started at 10pm. The show was full of action, though some scenes were rather gruesome. Luckily the show was not very long so we were still in time to catch the train.

Visit to clinic

This afternoon I accompanied 小花 to the doctor as she has been feeling spells of giddiness the past few days. The doctor asked her to go to A&E for checkup as a precaution as her blood pressure was rather high. So she went back to office to pack her things and Ms K drove her to the hospital. Seems like her blood test and x-ray results were OK and just need to take medicine and monitor the blood pressure. Hopefully everything will be alright.

I also took the chance to consult the doctor over my itchy throat when I was at the clinic. Occasionally my throat would feel itchy which causes me to cough. It is very irritating so I wanted to see what the doctor thought of it. He said it was most probably due to sensitive nose and prescribed some medicine for me. I'm still considering whether to eat the medicine as I'm very bad at swallowing pills :P

Relaxing day

Today I had lunch with Ms M only as our usual lunch kakis had other appointments. We actually wanted to eat at Local+ but there wasn't much food left so we went to Umi Sushi instead. I didn't really feel like eating the bento set so I decided to have sushi instead. Ms M also chose to have the same as me after some consideration. Nice to have something different for lunch :)

After lunch, we went back to office. As we had nothing much to do, Ms M introduced me to a new game called Candy Crush Saga. I tried playing it and it was quite fun, and we continued playing for most of the afternoon. Good way to pass time :P

MRT blues

This morning the MRT was so crowded at the Jurong East platform for trains heading towards Pasir Ris. So I decided to take a train one station back to Chinese Garden first but the journey back to Jurong East took almost 10 mins due to slow-moving trains ahead :S It was again very crowded at Buona Vista and the train was packed to the door.

I'm really annoyed by the train situation as I don't expect to have seats for my journey but I really hate squeezing like sardines in the MRT every morning. Why can't the trains be scheduled better?? It really spoils my mood whenever I commute in a packed MRT :(

This evening, my parents called to ask if I was ready to go home as they could give me a lift since they were around that area. I was very happy and agreed immediately as I could avoid the MRT crowd and reduce the chance of getting pissed off again.

Monday blues

Today I went with Ms S and Ms L to meet Tulip for lunch. 小花 was supposed to come along as well but she had a customer appointment so she did not join us. We had a good chat over lunch at Jia Xiang Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee.

I was actually rather free today, except an unexpected issue which caused so many people to contact me and make me feel annoyed as I don't know what to respond to them. Hopefully there won't be any more problems after I have escalated the matter to higher management.

Wedding dinner

Today I attended an ex-colleague's wedding dinner at Crowne Plaza Hotel. I was supposed to meet Ms L at Buona Vista but I received her sms saying that she won't be going as she had a stomach upset. Then I received another sms from Ms D asking if I wanted to hitch a ride from Ms H so I agreed. However, Ms D was late when meeting at Clementi and Ms H still had to send her husband and mother-in-law to MBS and Pasir Ris respectively, so we were rather late for the dinner.

We had missed the first march-in and the first dish was already served. The food was quite good and we finished most of the dishes. As the dinner started rather early at 6.45pm, the full course was served by 9pm. I took a lift from my colleague and reached home before 10pm.

Sian that tomorrow have to work again...

Rainy day

Today is a rainy day. I think the rain started since early morning and continued non-stop till late afternoon. The weather was very cool and nice, which made me feel lazy to go out.

I spent almost the whole day watching J-dramas as there were quite a number of new shows released while we were in Japan. So far most of the shows that I have watched seemed ok so would continue watching them. Oh dear... think it would be like last season where there would be a long list of nice dramas to watch.

Back to work

So fast... Our trip has ended and we have to go back to work today :( The only good thing is that today is Friday so we can look forward to the weekend.

We did not book any movie tickets for tonight so 小花 and I just went for dinner after work. We decided on BBQ Chicken at ARC as 小花 was craving for french fries. We were surprised to see that there were only customers at 1 table. We ordered a promo set which came with free soup and drink. The food still tasted good :)

Tokyo Trip: Tsukiji Market and Ginza

We went to Tsukiji Market this morning. It was quite crowded, probably as it was a weekend. We walked around and ate some fresh oysters, tamago roll and grilled squid. Tulip and Ms S even bought vacuum-packed fish as it was very cheap as compared to that in Singapore.We also had our lunch of sashimi rice bowl before we left.

After that, we proceeded to Ginza. We spent some time at a rather large Sanrio store as there were many cute stuff on display, trying to lure us to purchase them. We then shopped around at the nearby Mitsukoshi department store before trying to look for the Almond Cafe that 小花 highly recommended. We walked towards the wrong direction at first but in the end still managed to locate the cafe.

We had actually only wanted to order cakes to share but we had to order drinks too as they come as a set. The cakes were very soft and nice and we chatted and relaxed while eating.

We then went back to Mitsukoshi to shop around its basement level. We ate a fresh scallop each (with the exception of Tulip who doesn't like raw food) and it was very sweet and nice. We also bought a cake roll to share after our dinner.

We decided to have dinner at Ootoya, which is near our hotel. The food was cheap and good and we were very satisfied with the meal.

Tokyo Trip: Nakano and Shinjuku

This morning, we had breakfast provided by the hotel before starting our trip to Nakano. We were supposed to go to Hakone today but all of us felt tired from the flight yesterday and did not want to wake up early this morning so we decided to swap today's itinerary with Sunday's.

We reached Nakano rather early and many shops had just started opening for business. We walked along the shopping street and went into a drug store. 小花 and Tulip were interested in nail polish, while Ms S bought 2 bottles of Kose cleansing oil as it was much cheaper than in Singapore. We then passed by Uniqlo and saw that they were having sale so we went in to have a look. I ended up buying 2 turtleneck long sleeve T-shirts and a pair of room pants. I also bought 3 pairs of socks for 1,000 yen at another shop for my mum and 2 sisters.

We were starting to feel hungry so we decided to go for lunch at a highly recommended shop selling cheap and good unagi rice bowl. We were not very sure of the location so we just walked till the end of the shopping street and just before Nakano Broadway, we saw the shop 宇奈とと in the street to our right. We quickly went in but as there were not enough seats, we were shown to the 2nd floor. The food was delicious but the only disappointment was that there were people smoking at some tables, so we quickly finished our meal and left as we could not stand the smoke, .

After lunch, we continued shopping at Nakano Broadway. There was another tidbits shop and we were pleasantly surprised to find the yuzu strips candy that was not available at the Ueno shop. We bought all of it as well as some other tidbits.We also went to the basement level and walked around a marketplace where locals shop for groceries.

After that, we decided to go to Shinjuku. We went to the nearby Sanrio Gift Gate but did not find anything to buy. We were feeling a bit tired so we stopped by Muji Cafe to have Yuzu tea for tea break. We then went to the Agnes B section at OIOI to look for bags. We were surprised that some bags that we had just bought during our October trip were already on 50% sale. 小花 bought a sling bag for herself and I bought a bag for my mum.

We then continued shopping around before proceeding to 博多天神 for dinner. This has been 小花 and my favourite ramen shop in Shinjuku and we always come here if we are in the area. The ramen was still of the same standard as before. Yummy! :)

We went back to our hotel to share the cakes that we had bought earlier. We decided to try a similar can of alcoholic sparkling lemon juice as the pear flavoured one that we had yesterday was nice. However, we still preferred the cakes and drink yesterday.

Tokyo Trip: Ueno

Our flight departed Changi Airport at about 6am and we landed at Narita Airport at about 2 pm. Managed to doze off during the flight but still felt rather tired as did not sleep very well.

After clearing customs and getting our luggage, we went to purchase the Suica & N'EX round trip package for 5,500 yen each. We travelled by reserved seats on Narita Express to Tokyo station before transferring to the Yamanote line to Otsuka station. We had made reservations at Toyoko-Inn, which is just 2 mins walk away from Otsuka station.We quickly checked-in and left our luggage in our rooms before proceeding to Ueno to start our tidbits shopping.

We made a stop at 神田達磨 first for a たい焼き each as we had enjoyed it previously. The red bean filling was not too sweet and the batter was not too thick. Yummy! :) Only disappointment was that the たい焼き became cold rather quickly due to the weather.

We then proceeded to the tidbits shop 二木の菓子. Although we have been there a few times, we still get lost occasionally as we couldn't really remember which turn to make. Luckily we managed to find our way there this time. We slowly selected the tidbits that we want until the shop announced that it was about to close for the day. We ended up with a few bags of tidbits each :P

There was a stall selling たこ焼き next to the tidbits shop and many people seemed to buy from it so we decided to try it as well. It was piping hot and delicious. Glad that we gave it a try :)

After that, we went back to Ueno station to look for 一蘭拉麵 for dinner. 小花 and I could only remember that it was near the station at 山下 exit so we just headed that direction to try our luck and managed to find it quite easily :) There was no queue so we quickly went in and ordered the ramen. It was delicious and I even finished the whole bowl of soup.

After dinner, we walked around the shops in the station. As it was Ms S's birthday today, we bought some cakes and a can of alcoholic sparkling pear juice before going back to our hotel. The cakes tasted very good. Think we were very satisfied with all of today's food :)
