World War Z

Met up with 小花 at Vivocity to watch movie. As our show was at 7.30, we did not have time to have dinner before the show so we went to buy sushi from Giant. Not sure why but the queues at the cashiers were all quite long and we had to wait for some time before it was our turn. It caused us to be late for our movie by about 10 mins.

We were watching "World War Z". Even though we missed the beginning of the show, we could still catch up on the story. It was quite exciting and I was startled by the loud sound effects on a couple of occasions. Overall it was a nice show and it focused more on the process of finding a cure rather than the zombies, which was a bit different from other zombie shows.

Now You See Me

Today I met up with 小花 at VivoCity after work. We went to Long John Silver's for dinner before going to the cinema. We went to watch "Now You See Me" and it was very entertaining. It was amazing to see how the illusionists pull off the tricks. The ending was also a surprise but I think it was good. We had a good time and enjoyed watching the show :)

Movie time!

This afternoon we went to Quayside Isle at Sentosa Cove for lunch. Wanted to have a look at this new F&B and retail destination but doesn't seem to have much. We walked around and finally decided on Solepomodoro Trattoria-Pizzeria. We ordered 2 pizzas and 1 pasta to share. The pizzas were good but the pasta was a bit too salty and the penne was a bit hard. Think I still prefer spaghetti or linguini.

After work, I went to meet 小花 at Vivocity for dinner and movies. We had a quick dinner of 五香 at Food Republic then proceeded to the cinema. We were just in time before the movie started. We were watching "Epic" tonight. It was a very entertaining show and many scenes were funny so we enjoyed  watching it.

Holiday eve

Today Ms L came back to work. She said that she didn't feel any pain during or after the laser and the doctor told her that she could resume her normal life - no need to avoid eating certain food, can wash face/bathe as usual etc. Just that she had to use eye drops 4 times a day. Good to hear that :)

After work, I met up with 小花 and Ms H for dinner at Carl's Junior where we ate and chatted. After that, 小花 and I went to the cinema to watch the movie "Fast & Furious 6". It was quite fast-paced and exciting, just that some of the female characters looked so alike to me that I kept mixing them up :P

Yay! Tomorrow is Vesak Day so no need to go to work! :D

TGIF!

Today 小花 went to see a doctor as she was not feeling well. After that, she came over to meet up with Ms L and I for a short tea break. We chatted for about an hour before going back to work, while 小花 waited for me to finish my work and go for movies later.

After work, I met up with 小花 and we decided to have dinner at Ichiban Sushi at ARC first as it was less crowded. I ordered a Nabeyaki Udon and it was very filling.

After dinner, we proceeded to the cinema at Vivocity. We were watching "The Call" tonight. I didn't watch the trailer before the movie so was not quite sure what the plot was about. However, it was quite an exciting show and there were many scenes which kept us in suspense.

Today we went to 313 @ Somerset for teppanyaki lunch at Food Republic. We ate and chatted then went for drinks at Toast Box. We were so engrossed in complaining about a new colleague that we only went back to office at about 4pm.

After work, I met up with 小花 for dinner before proceeding to the cinema to watch G.I. Joe: Retaliation. It was an action-packed movie and kept us entertained throughout.

It's Thursday!

Today we went to Maxwell for lunch. As tomorrow is a public holiday, 小花 and Ms H decided to meet up with us today instead. We reached Maxwell earlier so we looked for a table first. It was rather crowded and we only managed to get a table after walking round for some time. I had 鱼片面线 as they had run out of 粗米粉. We chatted and ate but it was very hot and we decided to move to another table for desserts.

After work, I met up with 小花 again at VivoCity for dinner. 小花 suggested Texas Chicken and I agreed. I was not very hungry so I only ordered a burger. After dinner, we went to GV to watch "Snitch". It was quite exciting but I thought it was quite ridiculous that a person can be caught with a bag of ecstasy pills with no evidence of wanting to distribute them and be sentenced to a minimum 10 years jail. And his friend just sells him out in order to reduce his own sentence. The laws seem rather unjust...

TGIF!

Today we went to VivoCity for lunch. We actually wanted to lunch at Ajisen but there were no seats available so we went to Crystal Jade Jiang Nan instead. We ordered a bowl of ramen each and luckily all of us ordered the half bowl as it was very filling. We also ordered rice cake and xiao long bao to share.

After work, I met up with 小花 and we went to Long John Silver's for dinner. We then proceeded to watch The Croods. It was very hilarious and we totally enjoyed the show. Towards the end, there were also some touching scenes and I felt that it was a very nice show overall :)

Oz: The Great and Powerful

Today, 小花 came to meet us for lunch. Ms M actually wanted to have lunch at Wang cafe at ARC but it was very crowded so we went to Local+ instead. We ate and chatted then proceeded to Burger King for sundae. After that we went back to work while 小花 went to VivoCity to shop.

After work, I went to meet up with 小花. We went to buy sushi at Giant before going to the cinema. We were watching Oz: The Great and Powerful today. It was a very entertaining show with some funny scenes in between. It made me want to re-read all the books that I had read when I was young as I realized that I have almost forgotten the stories.

Today we went to meet 小花 and Ms H at VivoCity for lunch. Ms M had a craving for ramen so we went to Ajisen. Most of us ordered the Spicy Cha Shu Ramen which comes with a side dish and drink for the lunch set. We shared the different side dishes and chatted while eating.

After work, I went to meet up with 小花 for dinner before proceeding to the cinema for our movie. We watched Jack the Giant Slayer and it was an entertaining show. There were plenty of action as well as funny scenes and we enjoyed it.

So fast that it's already March now...

Poor feet...

Today I decided to wear my pair of new shoes but it was a big mistake. Thought it was very soft when I tried on before buying, but my feet started to hurt after just walking to the MRT :( When I reached office, my feet had blisters and I asked 小花 if she had any plaster. Unfortunately she only had 1 so I pasted it on the back of my right foot as it seemed to hurt the most. Spent the whole day walking around in pain...

After work, 小花 and I went to Food Republic. We were not very hungry and there was not much time left before our show, so we decided to to buy 五香 into the cinema to eat :P We tried to finish most of the food, especially those crispy ones, before the show started so that we won't make too much noise while chewing the food.

The movie "Parker" was quite exciting and action-packed. The scene where the killer tried to kill Parker in his room gave me a fright as I was not really expecting it. It was also quite gruesome when the knife cut through Parker's palm and he was covered in blood. But overall we enjoyed the show.

A Good Day to Die Hard

Our company did not declare half day today but as we were not really in a mood to work and there was not much to do, we left office at about 5 pm. I went to Harbour Front Centre with 小花 to buy Toto, then went to have dinner at the nearby McDonald's before proceeding to the cinema.

We watched the movie "A Good Day to Die Hard". It was full of action scenes and we were entertained throughout. Just thought that the son was a bit useless even though he is a CIA agent, and needed his father to help/rescue him. Overall still a good show to just watch and relax.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Today 小花 was on MC but we had already booked movie tickets for tonight and she said she just had to be careful so I went to meet her at O' Coffee Club for dinner first. We ordered the Garlic Prawn Pasta and the Skipper's Delight to share.

After dinner, there was still time so I accompanied 小花 to Daiso to buy some things. We then proceeded to the movie theatre. Our show was supposed to start at 9.30pm but we could not enter the cinema hall until almost 9.45pm as an earlier show had only just ended. Not sure what happened to the scheduling :S We were starting to get worried whether we would miss the last train when our show finally started at 10pm. The show was full of action, though some scenes were rather gruesome. Luckily the show was not very long so we were still in time to catch the train.

Jack Reacher

Today is finally Friday! After dinner, 小花 and I proceeded to the cinema to watch "Jack Reacher". Ms I had already watched it and recommended it to us. Although there were not many action scenes, it was still an exciting movie and I liked how Jack Reacher investigated and found the real culprit. A good movie :)

After the movie, I went back with 小花 to her home. I will be staying for the night as we had arranged a belated Christmas gathering with Tulip at 小花's house tomorrow. Shall watch J-drama with 小花 before sleeping.

Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Eve and our company has allowed us to go off at 2.30pm. 小花 and I decided to watch 2 movies since there was time and we did not watch any on Friday. After work, we watched "Wreck-It Ralph" first. It was a nice animation and the movie reminded me of the video games that I used to play when I was younger.

After the show, we went to Carl's Junior for dinner. It has been a long time since we last dined there and both of us ordered the Fish and Chips. It was good and we stayed there for a while to eat and chat before going for our next movie "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". It was a good show, with lots of exciting and funny scenes throughout. The movie was almost 3 hours long, but we enjoyed ourselves very much. We are already looking forward to the next installation of the show :)

Hotel Transylvania

We had booked tickets for "Hotel Transylvania" for tonight, so after dinner 小花 and I went for the movie. We had chosen this movie over "Hobbit" as previously we had watched the trailer for Hotel Transylvania and felt that it would be funny. The movie did not disappoint us. There were many amusing scenes and we had a good laugh throughout. A great way to end the week :)

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

There was still some time after work so 小花 and I decided to have dinner before the movie. I suggested O' Coffee Club as it has been a while since our last visit.  Ms M also joined us for dinner. The menu has changed and it seems like there were quite a number of Asian dishes added.

We decided to order the Garlic Prawn Pasta, Seafood Saffron Rice and Baked Shrimp-crusted Salmon. However, the Seafood Saffron Rice was not available so we changed to the Slipper Lobster Linguine instead. After we have finished the main dishes, 小花 asked if we could still share a Muddy Mud Pie and we agreed. We were very satisfied with the meal, with the exception of the slipper lobster which had a weird taste.

After dinner, 小花 and I proceeded to the movie theatre while Ms M went home. The movie was rather funny, which was quite unexpected given the seriousness of the previous parts. I sneezed in the middle of the show when it was quite quiet and I somehow felt it was so funny that I had to stop myself from bursting into laughter. There was kind of a twist at the ending but it was good. Someday I will find time to read the books to have a more detailed understanding of the whole story :)

Movie

Today we collected movie tickets for the free screening of Skyfall this Friday that our company has organized. However, our allocated seats were not good as they were in the first few rows. In the end, most of us decided to give away the tickets and not go for the screening, as we felt that it would be torturous on our necks to sit at the front rows for the two and a half hour movie.

小花 and I decided to book tickets for Twilight instead. This will be the last installation of the Twilight series so hope it will be nice. Looking forward to watch it :)

Rise of the Guardians

Today we left office earlier than usual so had time to go for dinner before the movie. 小花 had a craving for 五香虾饼 at Vivocity's Food Republic so we proceeded there. The standard is still good and we enjoyed the food.

After dinner, we went to collect the movie tickets that we had booked. We still had some time so we walked around before going into the theatre. 小花 was happy that she managed to buy a small Christmas tree that she has been looking for at FrancFranc.

We were actually deciding between Rise of the Guardians or Twilight as both were released this week. In the end, we chose Rise of the Guardians as we felt that Twilight would probably be screened longer. Glad that we did not miss Rise of the Guardians as it was a very entertaining movie. There were many funny scenes and the characters were also very likable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was a good way to de-stress after work :)

Argo

We had booked tickets to watch Argo at 8.10pm. However, as 小花 had some work issues to settle, we left office rather late. Luckily, a colleague was going home and she dropped us off at the bus stop opposite Vivocity, which saved us some travelling time. We rushed to buy some sushi at Giant, then helped my sis buy a moisturizer at Sephora before heading to Golden Village to collect the movie tickets that we had booked. We reached the theatre just in time for the start of the movie.

This movie was quite different from normal rescue hostage plots in that there were no gun-fights but just a great cover-up on the identities. The ending was really nail-biting when the hostages' covers were blown and I was crossing my fingers that the plane would take off in time. Overall, a nice and exciting movie.
