Sian...

Today we took a lift from Ms I and went to Bugis for lunch. Ms I was there to do manicure while the rest of us had a quick lunch at the nearby coffeeshop and then proceeded to the temple for praying. We then went to buy Toto and 4D before going back to office. Just nice Ms I had also finished her manicure so we got a lift back as well :)

Later in the afternoon, I heard Ms D said that our boss commented that we did not lunch with our new sales colleague. Even though she seems ok so far, now we can't even have lunch by ourselves to maybe just gossip/complain about things... so sian...

Stressful lunch

Today we had our weekly free lunch provided by the company and we were "forced" to lunch together as a team. They even opened a bottle of champagne to "celebrate" the start of our new team. So ridiculous... drinking alcohol during office hours :S I only had a sip for show and poured away the balance as I do not like to drink. Our boss commented that Ms M, Ms L and I were very quiet. I don't know what he expects us to say when their conversation topic was about nightclubs and KTVs... Think only Ms D could still put on a show and join in their conversation.

Hope we don't have to always lunch together as a team every Tuesday. Otherwise I will lose my appetite...

ONIS

Today spent the day watching J-dramas and occasionally playing Candy Crush Saga. Just the thought of having to go to work tomorrow filled me with dread... super sian...

Shall see what kind of show those people put up tomorrow...

MRT woes 3

This morning I couldn't board the MRT yet again :( I'm so fed up with having to face this problem every day. So I have decided to go to work later and hopefully the trains would not be so crowded during that time.

Feeling a bit tired today so think shall sleep earlier tonight. Wonder if our company will let us leave earlier tomorrow in celebration of Chinese New Year?

MRT woes 2

Having the same problem with the MRT again. However, today I couldn't even board at Buona Vista due to the long interval between trains, and had to resort to taking the train one stop back to Commonwealth :S It was also rather crowded at Jurong East but luckily the train interval today was not so long so I only had to miss a train and could board the next one.

Feel so tired everyday having to squeeze like sardines into the MRT. Why has taking a train become such a stressful chore?? So sian... I don't even think of having a place to sit, but I just want to be able to board the train without having to be packed to the door or having to wait for so many trains before I can board. Why is this simple wish so difficult to fulfill??!!

MRT woes

After work, a few of us got a lift from Ms S to Buona Vista. I then took the MRT to Jurong East to transfer to the North-South line to Bukit Gombak. To my horror, the platform at Jurong East was already crowded with people. However, the train that I intend to take did not come until 2 more trains on the East-West line arrived, which led to even more people waiting on the platform :S I had to wait for at least 3 trains before I could board as the interval was always more than 6 mins between trains :(

In the end, I took more than half an hour just to travel from Jurong East to Bukit Gombak because of this. What a waste of time! Can't understand how this can happen when it is supposed to be peak hours. *angry*

MRT blues

This morning the MRT was so crowded at the Jurong East platform for trains heading towards Pasir Ris. So I decided to take a train one station back to Chinese Garden first but the journey back to Jurong East took almost 10 mins due to slow-moving trains ahead :S It was again very crowded at Buona Vista and the train was packed to the door.

I'm really annoyed by the train situation as I don't expect to have seats for my journey but I really hate squeezing like sardines in the MRT every morning. Why can't the trains be scheduled better?? It really spoils my mood whenever I commute in a packed MRT :(

This evening, my parents called to ask if I was ready to go home as they could give me a lift since they were around that area. I was very happy and agreed immediately as I could avoid the MRT crowd and reduce the chance of getting pissed off again.

Back to work

This morning I missed a train and the next train would only arrive after 6 minutes. What a long interval, especially as it was still during peak hours :( In the end, the train was so crowded and I had to squeeze in as I was not sure how long I would have to wait for the next train. Can't understand how they could schedule such long intervals between trains when so many people are taking trains during this timing. Really spoil my mood early in the morning.

Today was a little busier than usual due to year end closing. However, 小花 and I still managed to leave office at about 6.15pm. Good that can reach home early. Hopefully can continue to do so :Þ

Last night stayed up to watch the match between Wigan and Man U. Glad that Man U won 4-0... Keep up the good work! :)

Boxing Day

Today is Boxing Day... and I really felt like boxing all those irritating and brainless people at work.

No mood to work these days... Everyday just dragging myself to office and then waiting to knock off. Think I should find something to do during office hours so that time will pass more quickly.

Today is also Shirota's birthday. お誕生日おめでとう! He has a live performance in Osaka today. Poor thing... has to work on his birthday. But hopefully his performance went well and may he continue to sing more songs :)

Zzz...

Going to work feels like a chore these days... So sianz...

Just started watching 1 episode of J-drama but already dozing off... Zzzz... Don't know why but just don't seem to be in the mood to do anything. Think I shall go to bed early today.

ONIS (Oh no it's Sunday)

Stayed up to watch Man U's match at 1.30am again. Why are their matches always so late?! Glad that they won but was rather shocked by their horrific defending. Two of the three goals that they conceded were from corners which should have been defended properly. I just hope that they can improve their defending quickly or they will definitely lose against Man City next week :(

Woke up only at around noon but still felt tired. Continued watching J-dramas but felt a bit sleepy around evening so went to have a short nap before dinner. Sigh... Felt like I wasted the whole day doing nothing and then have to go to work again tomorrow. Hope the week will pass quickly...

Changes

It's finally Thursday... This week seemed especially long, maybe because there has been so many changes at work. Tomorrow still have to go to work early so have to sleep earlier tonight... Sianz... Luckily it's Friday tomorrow so at least have our movie session to look forward to :)

Both my sis were talking about the newly announced 0.7 month variable bonus for civil servants. So jealous as I'm pretty sure our company won't be giving out bonuses this year. Sigh....

Overwhelmed :(

Today spent almost the whole afternoon pulling data for people as everyone kept saying it was urgent. In the end, I had to rush to update my own report and it was sent out late. Then Finance kept calling me and I didn't even bother to pick up the phone as I knew they were chasing me for another report that I am covering for a colleague on leave. And there were soooooo many incoming emails as well. Felt so overwhelmed at that point and I was in a bad mood :(  It was not until later when I have cleared most of my emails and work that my mood became better.

小花 wanted to collect the Tupperware that she ordered yesterday so she wanted to leave office by about 7.10 pm. However, just as I was about to pack up, Ms D came over to ask for some data and we were delayed by 15-20 minutes. In the end, the stallholder has packed up and left for the day. No choice but to go back tomorrow. Hopefully there is still stock for the Tupperware that 小花 wanted.

Monday blue

Sigh... it's Monday again... Today even more no mood to work (this sentence sounds so Singlish haha) because tomorrow is a public holiday. Actually wanted to take leave today so that can enjoy a long weekend but my usual cover is on holiday so there's no one to cover my work. So sad... :(

Office was also quieter than usual as three colleagues were on leave for their holidays and another on MC. Ahh... even though I just came back from Japan, I feel like going for another holiday again :P

Well, good thing is that there's no need to work tomorrow so can sleep late tonight. Shall continue watching my J-dramas :)

MRT delay

This morning I alighted at Outram Park station as usual to take the North-East line to Harbour Front station. I was a bit surprised to find that the MRT was packed to the doors with people but didn't think much about it initially. I thought I would just wait for the next train so I just proceeded further down the platform away from the escalators. The train was not as full there and as it did not show any signs of moving, I decided to just board it. It was only while waiting for the train to move that I realized that something was wrong. However, there were no announcements on the cause of delay, only that the trains will be slightly delayed.

It was getting hot as more and more people packed into the train but I could only wait as I was just one stop away from my destination and thought the delay would be resolved soon. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes before the train finally started moving. When I reached the office, I got to know that a few of my colleagues were also caught in the delay and stuck for more than 45 mins. I think there should have been announcements to inform commuters how long the delay was expected to be, and alternative transportation arranged as well. Hopefully this will not happen again...

It's Friday!

This afternoon we had a team meeting. Was rather shocked to learn that one of my colleagues might be asked to leave at the end of the year as her role will be made redundant. Sometimes I really don't understand what the company is thinking. From the day I joined, they have been undergoing restructuring almost every year. Some departments just seem to be hiring and retrenching people every now and then, it's almost as if they can't make up their minds what they want to do. I feel that this can be very disrupting as sometimes the handover might not have been done properly and new staff have no idea what to do. In the worst scenario, no one takes over the job and you don't know who to turn to.

The management always say that our performances lag behind our competitors but have they really given a thought that it maybe their own fault? Having restructuring so often is so damaging to employee morale. Who would want to do their best when your role can be made redundant so easily, irregardless of your performance? Of course they could tell you that if you are a good performer, you could be redeployed elsewhere, but who is to say that your new role won't be made redundant again? The worse thing is that even if you are good, you will not be automatically redeployed but have to go for interviews again. So how would one have a real sense of belonging in the company?


Tonight, 小花 and I watched our second movie of the week - Time Traveler's Wife. I enjoyed the show and was touched by the deep love between the Henry and Claire. Claire was willing to try to have Henry's child even when it could endanger her life. And Henry underwent vasectomy because he didn't want Clarie to be pregnant and thus put her life in danger. The ending was not bad but of course would have preferred if both of them could watch their daughter grow up together.

After the movie, we went for dinner at Coffee Club Express and ordered the special sets that came with a free 99% fat-free fruity drink each. I chose a soft shell crab linguini with black pepper sauce, while 小花 ordered a fish pasta with lobster sauce. Both were delicious and we were so full that we couldn't finish our drinks, which tasted good too. Shall come and try some other dishes next time :)

Mixed emotions

Felt extremely frustrated at work today. Have been trying so hard to manage the account exposure but in the end just felt like a scapegoat. It's so simple for people to say "highlight if there are any problems", but when I do highlight the problem, either no one has time to check or no one can really resolve the issue. So I'm still stuck with the problem and then..... Gross exposure too high? My fault. Contra not done fast enough? My fault. Payment not made on time? My fault. Just push all the blame to me, easy right?


After work I went to watch movie "Ice Age 3" with 小花. We usually watch every Friday but we were so used to buying the tickets on Thursdays that we said that we wanted "tickets for tomorrow night" yesterday. So we ended up with a Thursday show instead haha. Luckily 小花 checked the tickets before she kept them, otherwise we would have turned up at the cinema on Friday instead!

This is the first time I'm watching a movie in 3D. It's very interesting as you would have a visual feeling that you are a part of the show. The movie "Ice Age 3" also has many funny scenes and we all had a good laugh. I would highly recommend this movie to all :)


Today is also my youngest sis' birthday! 　妹、誕生日おめでとう！
