Miscommunication

Today 小花 and I had a miscommunication. I thought she had to finish up some work so I told her I would compile some data for a report in the meantime. However, she thought that I wanted to send out the report by today so she waited for me while she did other things. It was not until she commented that there are 2 new J-drama episodes to watch tonight that I asked her if she has finished her work. We then realized that we were actually ready to go off and were just waiting for each other. Haha... we were so blur uh... Luckily we were only later than usual by about 30 - 45 minutes.

Sad that another colleague resigned today. Sigh... Wonder how long we can last....

Man U lost :(

Stayed up for the match between Norwich and Man U at 1.30 am. So angry at Man U's listless performance and they were so short of attacking ideas. I thought Norwich was the better team and fully deserved the 3 points.

Even though I slept only at about 4am, I woke up at 11am and got out of bed. Sad that I have to go to work tomorrow so didn't want to waste time, although I only have plans to continue watching J-dramas :P Hope the week passes quickly so that it will be weekend again \^^/

Wedding at Jurong Bird Park

Today is my cousin's wedding. It was held at Jurong Bird Park and we had to reach there at about 10.30 am for the solemnization ceremony. A tram near the entrance brought us to the African Waterfall Aviary and there was some confusion when the staff told us that only about 30 people could attend the ceremony and it was already full. However, we thought it was impossible and still proceeded there and it turned out that there were only 30 chairs but plenty of standing room. The weather was rather hot and sunny and we were perspiring while waiting for the ceremony to start. There was a "performance" whereby a bird would fly to the bride and groom with the rings but I thought the distance seemed too short.

After the ceremony, we walked back to the tram and it took us back to the main entrance. The restaurant was just a short walk away and all of us walked quickly towards it as it was getting really hot. After the cocktail reception, we proceeded to the dining area. We could see lots of flamingos from the window of the restaurant.

There was also a wedding souvenir prepared for each guest. It was either a parrot or penguin plush toy! I thought it was rather special.

Lunch started at about 12.30pm. However, each dish took quite a long time to be served and it was almost 4 pm when we finished the full 8-course! I jokingly told my mum that we don't have to eat dinner liao. In the middle of the lunch, it started raining heavily so it was just as well that the dishes were served slowly since the path from the main entrance to the carpark was not sheltered and most of the guests did not carry umbrellas.

When we reached home, I felt so sleepy that I went to take a nap and only woke up at 7.30pm. It was still drizzling so the weather was cool and nice. I felt refreshed and started watching my J-dramas again :P

Argo

We had booked tickets to watch Argo at 8.10pm. However, as 小花 had some work issues to settle, we left office rather late. Luckily, a colleague was going home and she dropped us off at the bus stop opposite Vivocity, which saved us some travelling time. We rushed to buy some sushi at Giant, then helped my sis buy a moisturizer at Sephora before heading to Golden Village to collect the movie tickets that we had booked. We reached the theatre just in time for the start of the movie.

This movie was quite different from normal rescue hostage plots in that there were no gun-fights but just a great cover-up on the identities. The ending was really nail-biting when the hostages' covers were blown and I was crossing my fingers that the plane would take off in time. Overall, a nice and exciting movie.

Overwhelmed :(

Today spent almost the whole afternoon pulling data for people as everyone kept saying it was urgent. In the end, I had to rush to update my own report and it was sent out late. Then Finance kept calling me and I didn't even bother to pick up the phone as I knew they were chasing me for another report that I am covering for a colleague on leave. And there were soooooo many incoming emails as well. Felt so overwhelmed at that point and I was in a bad mood :(  It was not until later when I have cleared most of my emails and work that my mood became better.

小花 wanted to collect the Tupperware that she ordered yesterday so she wanted to leave office by about 7.10 pm. However, just as I was about to pack up, Ms D came over to ask for some data and we were delayed by 15-20 minutes. In the end, the stallholder has packed up and left for the day. No choice but to go back tomorrow. Hopefully there is still stock for the Tupperware that 小花 wanted.

Aunties

Today after lunch at Local+, we saw a stall selling Tupperware and 小花 was interested so we went to take a look. Spent quite a while there as we looked at the products on display and the stallholder also kept promoting them. The Tupperware were very colorful and seems air-tight so 小花 decided to buy some. However, there was limited stock so she placed an order for collection tomorrow.

On the other hand, I was more interested in the neighboring stall that was selling Bathroom Pole Shelf as my father recently changed our bathroom's to a 3M one but it does not seem to hold up well. The one that the stall was selling did not need any installation as the pole would be extended from the floor to the ceiling to prevent it from moving. However, my parents did not seem very keen when I asked them about it after work.

Seems like we are becoming more and more like aunties... Haha ;)

Happy Deepavali!

Woke up at almost 11 am this morning. Actually wanted to wake up later but forced myself to get out of bed at the thought of having to work tomorrow... Didn't want to waste time lazing in bed or else the day would pass very quickly haha...

Anyway, I spent the day watching J-dramas (again!). Think this season I'm watching too many different shows. Almost as soon as I finish an episode or two, then a new one would be updated... I can't seem to finish them all. I'll just take my time to watch then ;)

Today rained quite heavily so the weather feels cool... Hope I will have a nice sleep later :)

Monday blue

Sigh... it's Monday again... Today even more no mood to work (this sentence sounds so Singlish haha) because tomorrow is a public holiday. Actually wanted to take leave today so that can enjoy a long weekend but my usual cover is on holiday so there's no one to cover my work. So sad... :(

Office was also quieter than usual as three colleagues were on leave for their holidays and another on MC. Ahh... even though I just came back from Japan, I feel like going for another holiday again :P

Well, good thing is that there's no need to work tomorrow so can sleep late tonight. Shall continue watching my J-dramas :)

Lazing at home

Woke up at almost 12.30 pm today as I had watched the Aston Villa vs Man U match and only went to bed before 4am. Man U won 3-2 but their defence was terrible once again. They really need to stop conceding goals and putting pressure on themselves.

Spent the whole day lazing at home watching J-dramas and anime :P Managed to catch up on quite a number of dramas but still have a few to go. Shall continue to watch now :)

Happy Birthday to myself! :D

This morning my sis went to buy Subway sandwiches and soya milk from Mr Bean for our breakfast. My father's company had subsidized tickets for the movie "Ah Boys to Men" for today so my father had reserved 5 tickets for our family．Usually I don't watch local productions, especially Jack Neo's, but I just went along since it's supposed to be part of my birthday celebration.

We reached Vivocity at about 12.30 and went to collect the tickets from the organizer. The allocated seats were rather close to the screen (4th row from the front), maybe because we were later than others in getting the tickets. We were also given a voucher each for a box of popcorn, a cup of coke and nachos/hotdog bread, but we were still full from our heavy breakfast so we only redeemed 3 out of 5 vouchers.

The movie was supposed to start at 1pm but only really started at about 1.20pm after the usual advertisements and trailers. The movie was ok and I must admit that I felt a little sad at the beginning when Singapore was under attack. However, the rest of the movie was rather typical of Jack Neo's style, though non-locals would probably not be able to understand all the humor. I was also surprised at the end when I found out that this show was only part 1 of the movie.

After the movie, we went shopping around Vivocity. We then went for early dinner as we only had some popcorns and nachos during the movie. We took some time to decide what to eat and finally settled on Brotzeit as we wanted to try something different. We ordered the Brotzeit Platter to share and chose Roasted Potatoes and Napkin Dumplings as the side dishes. The food was good but we felt a bit 腻 towards the end as it was full of meat.

After dinner, we continued shopping till about 9pm before going home. Managed to buy some clothes so at least the time spent shopping was not wasted :P So my birthday passed just like that and I'm older by a year now *sob* XD
