Italy - Milan

Today we had breakfast at the hotel before proceeding to Castello Sforzesco, where we met our guide for the day. The castle was originally a military fortress but is just a museum now. The guide briefly explained the history of the place and then let us have some time to take photos. The sky was a bit gloomy but fortunately it did not rain.

We proceeded to Teatro alla Scala, which is a famous opera house. Opposite the building is a statue of Leonardo da Vinci. We then walked a short distance to the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a shopping arcade built in the 19th century.

Later we visited the Milan Cathedral, which took five centuries to complete and is the fourth largest church in the world. This was my first time seeing such a big church and it looked really grand. We were given some free time so we went to take a look at the inside of the church.

After lunch, we went to Fidenza Village, which is a factory outlet, for shopping. Originally, we were given only 2 hours but when we met at the meeting point at 5pm, we were told that there was a problem with our bus so we could shop for another hour. I bought a pair of walking shoes from Nike as well as a Guess wristlet. We also bought 2 cones of Gelato to share and were quite surprised that we could choose 2 scoops for each cone. The bus finally came to pick us at 6pm and we stopped over at a highway restaurant for dinner, before going back to the hotel to rest for the day.
